Studentafton is proud to present an evening with the Pussy Riot members Lusine Djanyan and Alexey Knedlyakovsky!

Studentafton welcomes Lusine Djanyan and Alexey Knedlyakovsky from the feminist protest punk rock group Pussy Riot to Lund the 27th of February. The Studentafton will focus on their respective lives and careers, and on the subjects of art, activism and freedom of speech and expression.

Pussy Riot gained international reputation in 2012 after a regime critical performance at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, for which three of the Pussy Riot members were sentenced to two years imprisonment. During a protest perfomance in connection to the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia Lusine Djanyan and Alexey Knedlyakovsky were beaten by Cossacks. Djanyan was later on also fired from her position at the university in Krasnodar. They are both artists with current exhibitions in London and Milan. Last summer they left Russia to seek asylum in Sweden, and now they will be visiting Studentafton in Lund. 

The whole evening will be in english. At the end of the Studentafton there will be a 30 minutes Q&A session.
